'Send reports of Meeteis for inclusion in Scheduled Tribe list'
08 Jul 2022
Manipur is a beautiful state but at times some people try to make it bad. The fact is the two indigenous people - Meetei and Naga are welcoming by nature. This is the reason why today Manipur have become a multi-ethnic state. However every community need to understand the limits.
Being indigenous the Meetei people ask the centre and the state governments to rectify the wrongs done to the Meetei by recognising them as native indigenous people when some people in the name of some organisations threaten the government and those who asks to include the Meetei in the list of Scheduled Tribes.
This threat must be stopped once and for all.
But when the Meetei people ask the government to rectify the wrongs that had been done against them by recognising them as native indigenous people and therefore enlist them in the list of Scheduled Tribes of the Indian Constitution, why should they oppose it. In fact they should be grateful to the two native indigenous people of Manipur for accepting them as one of us.
Therefore in the larger interests of people of Manipur WMC earnestly request the Manipur government to kindly send the two reports to the centre so that the process to rectify the wrongs may be initiated at the earliest.
