Background
North Eastern Space Applications Centre (NESAC) established on th September 5 2000 is a joint initiative of Department of Space (DOS) and North Eastern Council (NEC). It provides space technology inputs for the development of North Eastern Region (NER) of our country.
The scientific programmes of the Centre are guided by the needs of the region and are reviewed by NESAC society and governing council. NESAC has taken up and completed several research and application projects covering the NER states in the areas of natural resources management, infrastructure planning, health, education and space science research. The Centre has implemented a number of applications projects sponsored by user agencies in the region, national/regional projects coordinated by ISRO-DOS centres and research and developmental projects under Earth Observations Applications Mission (EOAM), satellite communications, Disaster Management Support (DMS) and space science programmes.
NESAC is celebrating 10th Foundation day on September 5, 2010 and organizing various programmes to mark the occasion. A seminar on Space Applications in North Eastern Region is organized to highlight the achievements of space technology inputs in the region and identify the thrust areas. It would also help in assessing the gap areas and re-orient the space technology utilization in the region. It is expected that scientists/engineers/researchers/academicians/administrators working in different areas of space technology applications will share their experiences by contributing research papers and a large number of interested research workers/students will be benefited through direct interaction.
The organizing committee extends cordial invitation to scientists, engineers, researchers, academicians, students, administrators and entrepreneurs to participate in the seminar and help in making the seminar a great success.
Important deadlines:
Submission of extended abstract/full paper: September 15, 2010
Intimation of acceptance: September 20, 2010
Authors are requested to follow the format of "Journal of Indian Society of Remote Sensing" while preparing the manuscript.
