Global School of Hair & Beauty opens in Guwahati to impart job-oriented diploma courses

A first-of-its-kind professional institute of hair dressing, makeup, beauty and nails - Global School of Hair & Beauty – was inaugurated in Guwahati on February 25 by well-known businesswoman and CMD of Pride East Entertainments Pvt. Ltd., Mrs. Riniki Bhuyan Sharma.

Located at the 5th floor, Anil Plaza-II on GS Road in Guwahati, the school will impart specialized job-oriented training on various hair and beauty solutions. In a first, the school has collaborated with top international brands like Schwarzkopf, Global Keratin (GK), Ikonic, Makeup studio Amsterdam, Davines, Cystein and Biosoft to provide certification for the courses.

Speaking on the occasion, Mrs. Riniki Bhuyan Sharma, CMD Pride East Entertainments Pvt. Ltd. said: “I am elated to be here today inaugurating the Global School of Hair & Beauty. The institute will not only help our people get job-oriented training, but also enable them to work with top brands operating in the region and beyond. The institute mainly offers courses in four modules – GSHB Hairdresser, GSHB Makeup Artistry, GSHB Beautification and GSHB Nail Technician. The Hairdresser course is a 10-week-course that trains students on haircuts and hair colouring techniques, rebonding and smoothening, and cystine keratin treatment. It also includes one week of practical training.

The Makeup Artistry segment offers training in four modules- Basic, Advanced, Bridal and Self Makeup course. The 3-weeks basic course which includes introduction to makeup, personal hygiene, skin analysis, colour theory face structure, concealing techniques, contouring and highlighting techniques. It also includes details on foundation, eye shapes and eyeshadow application techniques, eyebrow shaping and enhancing, varieties of makeup and hair style etc.

In the advanced course of two months, along with the basic course curriculum, the students will be taught various aspects of hair styling and beauty solutions, including understanding hair textures, hair consultation, product knowledge, etc. The Self-makeup and Bridal makeup courses are short-term courses for a quick brush with styling for special occasions.

The Beautification segment offers two modules – Basic course of 3 months, and Advanced course of 4 months. The Basic module teaches candidates about skin care, facials, bleach, product knowledge for types of skin, body care, pedicure, manicure, body polishing, scalp massage, exfoliation, waxing and threading with an internship period for 10days. The Advanced module, apart from the above, also offers basic equipment practice for face and basic makeup training.

The Global School of Hair & Beauty also offers a 15-day diploma course for Nail Technicians, which provides the candidate with all basic practical and theoretical knowledge to learn nail extension safely and correctly. It empowers the student to understand different types of nails, brushwork and accessories, glitter, needle marble and sponge work, gel polish and acrylic extensions which helps one start their career as a skilled nail art professional.
