Dr Manmohan Singh Scholarships 2011

The British Council has invited applications for scholarships from aspiring candidates interested in PhD and M.Phil. degrees in science, technology, economics and social sciences at St. John's College, University of Cambridge.
A press note issued here said there will be three Manmohan Singh scholarships worth £35,000 each.
The candidates should hold a master's degree from a recognised Indian institution with a first class. Detailed information can be had from the web site

Applications should be submitted as hard copy at the British Council latest by December 31.
St. John's College, a leading college of the University of Cambridge, first launched the scholarships programme at the Prime Minister's residence in New Delhi in 2007. The scholarship programme has been set up exclusively for Indian students currently based in India for PhD and M.Phil. degrees at St. John's College in areas such as science and technology, economics, and social sciences, the press note said.
St. John's College, where Dr. Singh studied economics in the late 1950s, is seeking to award £35,000 scholarships to each PhD student for up to three years, with three scholarships planned for the year 2011-12
