Well!!! Travellers know that Manipur is famous for its floating Keibul Lamjao National Park,
stunning Loktak Lake, Ema Keithel and world’s oldest Polo Ground – Mapal Kangjeibung.
But, in addition to these places there are thousands of hidden locations that need to be explored and discovered. Describing here least unexplored village located in Chandel district of the state.
KWATHA VILLAGE
The village is situated at a drive of 103 kilometres from the heart city Imphal. This hidden village lies
in the Tengnoupal Tensil which is under the Chandel district. From the commercial hub Moreh it is
only 18 kilometre.
Total population as per the Census 2011 is 327.

People are down to earth and welcome everyone with a smile. They deliver good hospitality so that
everyone visiting the place can enjoy a memorable experience.
They have their own tradition, culture, history and heritage.
Main source of income for the villagers is preparation of Soibum (Fermented Bamboo Shoot) and they sell Rs. 30 per kilogram. People are living a simple lifestyle.

HOW TO REACH
As already described above, it is a hidden village there is no proper transportation system. Travelling through private vehicle is the best means.
