SC order on probe in Manipur
The Telegraph | New Delhi, Aug. 30:
The Supreme Court has directed the CBI to appoint a senior police officer of the rank of deputy inspector-general to monitor the probe ordered by it into alleged extra-judicial killings in Manipur. The court said no member of the CBI team shall be changed without its consent.
The apex court issued the directive after the CBI, pursuant to the court's July 14 direction for a probe by the agency into the killings, submitted a compliance report saying it had appointed a five-member team of senior officers to monitor the probe.
