An efflorescence champ in music is always put in the heel of a doctor, engineer or an IAS officer. All this comely music that vibrates to quench the pains of all and sundry goes in vain at the time of engagement, because they cannot be a becoming character in front of doctor, engineer and IAS officer while looking for a good match.
This evil monopoly which is flowing in the true feeling of truthfulness is hampering more than ever. To wipe all the dust from your eyes, you will be now taken to a personal life of a bright star in a cloudy night sky.
Langpoklakpam Russell Meitei (Russell Langg) tasted the soil for the first time on 27th August 1998. Life has been hard for him since the bitter dulcet existence started rolling.
With less of the least exposure, he started to consume all the timely gifts to find an exposure for himself in the field of music. Singing is just a moiety of the other in the world of writing lyrics.
He would most of the time sit in a lonely place to make his ideas flow to get tuned. Due to the extreme less exposure, he could not explore himself to show the world who he is. Even during the classes, he would view the entire scenario from a critical angle which makes him see all the true lies. Music has been a cradle for all his pains.
Till class 1 to 5 he was studying in St Joseph School, then from class 6 to 10 in Sainik School Imphal. Sainik was the one which whispered him to follow his heart and fly to quench all his unfulfilled dreams.
He would spend sleepless nights rapping with his friend Clinton denying the fact by accepting that he should wake up early. Russel looked around, no one pushed him up, he just saw people nodding their heads.
A life changing point came for him, he met B. Meishnam. Mr. BM pushed him up to the platform from where he could walk alone. From the day he met him, till now, he is guiding him in every possible way. He has released so many albums. Mr Russel is trying to make a move for a positive change in this society. He also wants to become a great rapper, keeping hopes on becoming an army officer too.
He pours out his emotion that ‘Manipuries thinks rappers are of no use, but it’s an art of sharing emotions in the fastest way.’ He expresses his deep love for Manipuris in every string he moves.
To talk as a proof, 90% of his songs focuses on social issues, women empowerment, rape, ILP and so on, he truly shows his attachment to this soil in every note that he makes.
He writes poem, short stories, songs and so on. His feelings were deeply exposed to this world of art from class 9. He finds it hard for songs and books to go hand on hand.
Mirror has been his best teacher, he can judge himself, he corrects himself, because he gets all the satisfactory remarks. He also projects his politically correct statements towards the young rappers and the pair groups not to do it for fame, he does wants them to have a productive rap.
As a lone son of (Late) L Iboyaima and Maibam Haripriya Devi and a lone brother of a single sister, he took all his family responsibilities. In person, he is very kind, jolly, lovely and truly supportive.
Rapping as his passion, he will walk with rap no matter what. He is very unique while rapping, he plays with the words so fluently and comfortably with extreme clarity. He is born and brought up at Pishumhong, presently studying class 12 in Kanan Devi Memorial School.
We will do keep supporting him. And many of his albums are coming up shortly. If this shining star is kept hidden with some social incorrectness, how many more will be there in Manipur?
Seeing their own dreams dying in front of their eyes just because of the limited exposure, just for getting scared that whole world may not like you, you keep hiding. You know what the problem is, you still think you are too young or too old to start doing things.
Today I say, today is the day you have been waiting for, life is short, today is the youngest you will ever be and oldest you have ever been.
So take this chance, it’s never late to start off something. If you are still hiding because of the voices from behind, close your ears and run out now, right now. The whole world is waiting for leaders; may be you are one amongst the next.
