Robert Naorem showcases 'Unity of Community' at Thimpu, Bhutan on July 31st 2016
Celebrity stylist and designer Robert Naorem showcased an ethnic blend of styles from different communities of Manipur in a fashion event held at the royal capital of Bhutan, Thimpu on July 31st 2016 . Designers from Assam, Arunachal and Bhutan brought the ramp to life with their exquisite collections.
The show was organised with the vision to bring peace and harmony between Bhutan and its border states and to promote young talents & exchange the culture of fashion. The event also sent a message to emphasise on eco-friendly fabrics and promote the traditional way of weaving and inspire the youth to give importance to traditional textile. This also serves as a contribution towards the protection of our environment.

Robert Naorem closed the event with a grand finale collection “Eyong gee Sayol” showcasing 60 outfits with 3 Indian top models along with the top models of Bhutan.
The showstopper of the fashion event was former Miss World first runner-up Parvathy Omanakuttan.

The main highlight of Robert Naorem’s collection was the fusion of Kuki, Naga & Meitei designs on one single Inaphi woven out of silk. Robert is on the way to legally register this signature design as “Ching Tam”, bringing a unity of our communities in Manipur.
The audience were mesmerized and were completely taken by the experience when the models with vibrant and unique styles walked the ramp. The fashion event received thunderous applause and appreciation with a standing ovation.
