Rhetoric spoils the cause
The Telegraph | Dipanjan Sinha | June 11
A recent cry that has defied comprehension is "discrimination by the Centre". The "discrimination" which was the subject of protest by Neso this June 7 is quite a package.
It includes a likely murder, a suicide, the army act and influx of refugees - an all-in-one protest. I presume they want these issues to be addressed. But as far as addressing these issues is concerned, it is difficult to fathom the effect of such a protest other than the strength of its emotions that create the feeling that the Northeast is a homogeneous society neglected by the Centre.
Richard Loitam was not from Assam, neither was Dana Sangma.
