Days and months passed by. John noticed that his sister was putting on little weight despite her poor appetite and miseries. He was happy at least healthwise she looked comfortable. But to John's horror, one thought struck him. He cheated himself, it can't be, she is still very young and tiny.

As days passed by, John realized that he had to face the reality without wasting time. He requested a nurse midwife to examine Rozy at home. His doubt was confirmed, the age of the pregnancy coincides with the time Rozy assumed that miserable condition.

Now time was slipping out of his hands, he had to plan and act fast. But how????

One thing for sure, he could not keep Rozy for long with him. He had to take her back to the village. He was sure his mother would understand and take care of her.

He requested for a short leave, not granted. Boss, Juma was going abroad for an emergency meeting. John was the only person who handled accounts section when the boss was not around. He was told to wait till the boss comes back. Two weeks was not a long time. John decided to utilize the opportunity.

On the 3rd day after Juma left, John phoned Juma's wife mimicking Juma's voice.

" Listen mama Baraka, it is me, calling from London. I know you were not expecting me to call. But something terrible has happened at the office. So I had to escape for few days. John is the only one who knows about it. I need your help; only you can pull me out of this situation. I have to ask you for something unthinkable as a husband but there is no alternative and no time. I want you to charm John at any cost, seduce him and do whatever it takes. I can't talk much, I will phone you again tomorrow around this time.

Mama Baraka was surprised to receive a call from her husband. He never used to phone when he was on a safari. This time he phoned that too to give such horrifying, sinful idea. Something was really wrong, she thought. But it was no doubt; it was her husband who phoned.

She was not much educated, so she never bothered to ask in details the purpose of his safaris, neither he explained her. Nothing much she could do; she could not discuss with anybody also because of the nature of the information except to wait for the phone call again.

The next day the phone rang again at nearly the same time, with the same pleading voice of her husband. In the beginning she refused to obey him, to listen to him but she was told repeatedly, reminding that she was doing it for a good cause, to save her own husband and her family. At the end she gave in. They agreed that mama Baraka should call John home with the pretext of wanting to have some money for emergency use. When he would come to deliver it home, she was to seduce him and complete the plans. The rest would be handled by Juma later.

The following day mama Baraka phoned John. Things were working as John anticipated. It went without a hitch.

When mama Baraka started seducing John, he was trembling with fear that it should not go wrong somewhere. To her, it looked very natural; a simple, loyal worker being nervous and frightened to have a relation with the wife of the boss.

John noticed only one change from his plan; on the table, next to their bed, there was a tap recorder, switched on.

He talked as minimum as he could, that too only protesting words.

Mission accomplished.

When Juma came back from the safari, he found his wife sulking, but he thought it was because his safari was somewhat unexpected. They had many other social commitments. He thought it would be all o.k. once he was back with the routine again.

When he came to the office, John was waiting for him with his leave application. Before Juma could say anything, John told him the reason for his application. He told even the exact day when she conceived without revealing any particular name.

Juma tried his best to conceal the shock but John came prepared to detect even the slightest sign; signs for both the incidents. He seemed uncomfortable, not angry. That was the sign of acknowledgement of his act with Rozy. So far he had not learnt about the worse.

His leave was approved.

As usual daily routine work went on. John gave the accurate accounting report with the developments while Juma was away. Now Juma was sure John knew he was responsible for his sister's situation. John could notice the guilty expression. He offered John to let him buy the tickets for their journey. John declined.

On their way to the village, sitting in the bus, John was contemplating about all the possibilities awaiting him in the office. He made sure that there was no mistake where his job was concerned. Before he left, he had already contacted several other companies for a possible job, in any case. If he was still to continue with Juma, which was most likely, as the key to Juma's familie's humiliation was in his hand, he would love to continue serving Juma. At least seeing Juma's helplessness, would lessen his and Rozy's sorrows.
