Breeding, Seed Science and Population Genetics has an open position (65%) of a
research associate (Ph. D. student) for three years starting from 1. 8. 2015.
The position is part of a collaborative research project aimed at integrating genomic, phenotypic

German Ministry of Agriculture. The position involves the following tasks:
Contribute to the development of a database to store a diversity of data types
Assemble public and project-related data in the database
Implement existing and new approaches to identify useful genetic resources based on different data using population or quantitative genetic methods
Coordinate genotyping and phenotyping activities with project partners
The project will mainy use data generated in a collaborative project to breed soybean varieties for
cultivation in Central Europe although our goal is to develop a generic and broadly applicable
approach to the identification of potentially useful plant genetic resources for breeding programs
and their contribution to food security.
