Request Vangaichungpao Railway Station cannot be changed
The Kuki Organization for Human Rights Trust sincerely and respectfully request your Honour that Vangaichungpao Railway Station must not be changed as reported by Medias. There has been going on non-stop a secret policy to eradicate Kuki names. Common nomenclature “Kuki,” is the name all people who stood together defended the whole North East India and North West Burma (now Myanmar) against the invading British Colonial Government and saved the whole area for all indigenous people including Tripura and Manipur, all the Hills of the region by sacrificial war and imprisonment for all indigenous people. That is why people of region still own their ancestral land.
When British Colonial Government left the region as Independent, all the people, Kingdoms of Tripura and Manipur remain as Independent as they were pre-British advance. There came a change, the change seemingly aim to annihilate the land saviour Kukis by eradicating them from the soil of their ancestral land they saved. The purpose for change or eradicating Vangaichungpao Railway Station is the revelation of all hundreds of Kuki names changed e.g. Laijang is changed to Tamenglong, Aimol is changed to Tamei, Gamphajol changed to Kampiron.
There are hundreds are changed in Tamenglong District alone. Many hundred village names in Kuki are changed to a new name in Ukhrul District, e.g. Chahsat to Kamjong, Phaisat to Phungjar, many others. Nay, even this very name Kuki, by this name the whole region was saved by Kuki Warriors, the very saving name Kuki has been deleted in 1956 through Tribe modification by the sitting Manipur Outer Member of Parliament of India causing the present numerable social chaos.
The Kuki people who saved the indigenous people and their land from British Colonization, still own their respective indigenous land. All communities have been watching what has been going on, including the Quit Notice served to Kukis on 22 October 1992. There are many more, time will tell who is land saviour and who is seller.
What this Memorandum says is from now on the State Government must know who is land defender, and who is land seller. And all who love their land should stand together and defend it. Because this is why Human Rights have become in existence in the whole World. National Human Rights Commission of India would solely agrees.
