Repeal AFSPA: Women activists from seven South Asian countries

Cutting across nationalities, women activists for human rights and peace from seven South Asian countries have joined hands to support Irom Sharmila who has been on a fast unto death for the past eleven years against the state militarisation.
They expressed outrage at the governments and people for not responding to the resistance against the Armed Forces Special Powers Act.
At a meeting of the South Asian women and Peace Building in South Asia held in Delhi recently, women activists from countries like India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal, Bangladesh, Afghanistan and Maldives praised the courage and commitment of Irom Sharmila Chanu.
