Relief material to students and families stuck in Delhi
April 28th 2020
Delhi Manipuri Society (DeMaS) has continued its campaign to distribute dry rations as relief material to the needy Manipuri students and families who are stuck in New Delhi.
The team today distributed to multiple locations in the capital city including Mahipalpur, Maidan Garhi, Neb Sarai, Malviya Nagar, South Extension, Ashram, Safdarjung Enclave and Jasola in New Delhi.
The distribution of the daily essential items is prioritized, as per the requests received by the Society. The distribution was carried out under the guidance and active participation of DeMaS
President - Sapam Bishwajit.
With the steady in-flow of donations from generous people around the country to the Society, DeMaS will continue to cover more areas until the lockdown is lifted and as long as the necessity is felt.
It may be mentioned that, apart from lending a helping hand as monetary assistance to the Manipuri nurses, who had, unfortunately, tested COVID19 positive while working as frontline warriors against the disease, in various hospitals in Delhi, the Society took up the task of distributing dry ration to help students and families from Manipur, stuck in the lockdown in the National Capital Region.
DeMaS is a Society of Manipuris based in New Delhi, who are working as professionals, and also in various capacities in Government and corporate organizations.
The Society was registered in New Delhi in the year 2002 and since then, it has been working for Manipuri People in National Capital Region and on issues in the interests of Manipur State.
