Relief materials by villagers of Moidangpok to Nungtek Village
The widespread of COVID-19 has given a big question on the very survival of human existence. These days will go as dark period in the history of humankind. Like the common saying “Every cloud has silver lining” this trying time is also giving us a good perspective of increased sense of brotherly relation among the people of hills and plain.
It may be recalled that on 28th of April 2020, Nungtek Karuanganuam Churches Fellowship (NKCF) lead by Pastor Pou Khuigai, Chairman, NKCF handed over fruits and vegetables donated by Inpui Tribe of Nungtek, Noney to the villagers of Moidangpok.
Today as a sign of gratitude for the generous gesture by the villagers of Nungtek, volunteers of Social Development Association, Moidangpok Aheibam Leikai and Recent Youth Club, Moidangpok Maning Leikai donated rice, vegetable oil, salt, potato, body soap and detergent to Nungtek villagers. The team of volunteers was welcomed by Pastors of NKCF, Chairman Nungtek Village and villager elders.
While welcoming the guests of the reception, Mr. Aloh, Ex-President Inpui Tribe elaborated the close relationship that existed among the people of Nungtek and Moidangpok.
In a brotherly gesture, representatives of the Pastor stated that he brings the well wishes and blessings from his village for the villagers of Moidangpok.
Speaking on the occasion Dr. Aheibam Dinamani Singh, Joint Secretary, Social Development Association stated that the materials handed over may not be considered as food items but the love and well wishes from the villagers of Moidangpok for the tribe of Nungtek. He further stated that at such dark day only brother and sisters will come forward help each other.
“The relation between the tribes and villagers of Moidangpok is from the time unmemorable. This interaction has benefitted both communities.” stated W. Jiten Singh, Advisor, Recent Youth Club, Moidangpok.
Shri. Gaigonglung while expressing his heartfelt thanks to Moidangpok expressed his wish that in future also the people of both hills and plains collaborate to build up a cordial relationship. He also expressed his desired to have get together for time to time so that we understand the culture of each other.
