Rejoinder to Yanthungo Patton
Kohima, 02nd September 2019
The Naga People’s Front is constraint to issue this rejoinder against the backdrop of the Deputy Chief Minister of Nagaland, Yanthungo Patton’s speech at Dimapur at Kevijau village during the third academic assembly session of Janjati Shiksha Samiti Nagaland on August 31, which appeared in the local dailies where he claimed that NPF party is finished.
How dare a tall leader of Nagaland just out of the blue say that NPF is finished? Maybe his mathematics calculation is giving him false information, as in the house of 60 Assembly Constituencies, NPF with 26 MLAs is the single largest party and his BJP party has only 12 MLAs.
The Deputy CM should be reminded that it is because of the four NPF MLAs in Manipur unconditional support to the BJP, the Biren Singh led Government could be possible otherwise the scenario will be totally different. Patton should also remember that NPF party has one MP each in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha in the parliament. Therefore, the NPF questioned his wisdom on what ground he termed NPF party is finished.
The NPF advised the Deputy CM that before he utter such fantasy statement, he should realise that it is because of his association with the NPF party in the past many years, he could attained the position where he is now. Had he realise this, he is expected to show some sense of respect when he refers to NPF on any occasions.
If it is not mistaken then the Deputy CM during his association with the NPF should remember that NPF is a well organized and disciplined party from grassroot to Central office level and not only that, the NPF party has spread its unit in other Northeastern states as well and with more than 10 Lakhs party primary and active members enrolled in the party. Needless to remind him that NPF is recognized and registered under ECI as one of the oldest regional political party in the Northeast and the second oldest in the country.
The NPF have nothing to do with the internal or PDA alliance but was surprised that the Deputy CM did not whisper a single word about BJP-NDPP alliance but instead talk about the formation of BJP Government in 2023 on its own, which will not be very productive for its alliance partner.
Last but not the least, the NPF also advised the Deputy CM that instead of cultivating the students for their brighter future, he choose a school to propagate his political rumours to the little school children, which is not considered as a healthy practice on the part of Deputy CM.
