Rejoinder to NDPP from NPF
Kohima, 2nd Sept 2018
The Naga People’s Front (NPF) has asked the Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP) to stop whining and kick-start work on their tall promises made to the people of the state at the onset of the PDA Government.
Since, the NDPP could not perform its duties in a way a responsible political party is expected to, its poor performance and false commitment to the people cannot be further concealed, no matter how much clarification is issued through the Media. The rejoinder of NDPP dated 1st Sept. 2018 is yet another version of its desperate attack on the NPF Party with an abrupt zeal to teach the NPF Party the usage of terminology. May NDPP be cautioned that the NPF Party is not in a classroom to learn vocabulary and grammar.
1. The NPF finds it ridiculous the way the ruling party is trying to cover up its callous actions by justifying them. Random appointments made with various status including that of their kith and kins of the highest bidders as a way of connecting with the grassroot people is not doing justice to the toiling masses of Nagaland.
2. The NPF finds it malicious the NDPP justification stating that they pose no additional burden to state exchequer with their extra baggage. People of the state know exactly what they are up to. Moreover, these random appointments undermine the capability of the duly elected 34 MLAs in the PDA govt.
3. The NPF appreciates the fact that NDPP has finally come to accept the NPF’s 4 years administration which was marred by one crisis after another at the behest of the leadership who are at the presently at the hands of the state affair.
4. The NPF in all its sincerity has expressed its gratitude to the NDPP for acknowledging the NPF as the oldest regional political party in the state as well as in the North East.
5. NPF finds no reason to apologize to the NDPP for apparently using a particular vocabulary which seems to have upset them. The NDPP should start focusing on providing roads and helping rain-affected people in the state.
6. Scoffing at the statement of NDPP that it will conduct its affairs with responsibility and respect the feelings of the people, NPF asked the NDPP to remind their govt to get real for once and start working for the people-based issues, instead of playing games.
7. Diversion of public fund and deviation from issues of public importance has become the hallmark of NDPP-led PDA Government and yet many of its members continue to idolize the Government in every way possible. It will do a lot of good if such individuals identify and evaluate issues at hand instead of misleading the general public with sugar-coated statements in the Media.
As a responsible political party, NPF Party will continue to raise issues of concern and it is for the NDPP-led PDA Government to decide as to whether it should articulate and justify Government actions in public interest or allow its Media & Communication Cell to play the role of an English Teacher while continuing to issue statements in the Media. If it so pleases the NDPP, the word “chamchas” used commonly in political parlance is hereby withdrawn and could well be replaced with “coterie” or several such sugar-coated synonyms. The choice would be NDPP’s.
In conclusion, the NPF reminds the NDPP that in any democratic system, it is duty bound for the Opposition to point out the misdeeds of the Government which in public interest, ought to be responded by the Government instead of driving such matters to worthless debates and paper war.
