Rejoinder to NDPP :: NPF
Kohima, 1st November 2019
Press Rejoinder
The Naga People’s Front expresses its dismay over the NDPP’s attitude in blame game and continual effort to sow seeds of dissent within the NPF party is nothing but absolute pathetic, unethical and juvenile. The NPF expect the ruling party to more matured and not to resort to such measures, which only expose to the world of their own insecurities and trust deficit that continues to exist within their party and their witch hunt to break the NPF party would not succeed.
As for the charges leveled against its leader (LoP) TR Zeliang as ‘Misleading’ when he wrote to the Hon’ble Speaker appealing him to convene the JLF meeting at the earliest is most condemnable.
Nonetheless, the whole incident of blame game show by the ruling party (NDPP) indicate they do not have concern over the Naga political issue but only concern for their chair and future position in a post –solution scenario and lobbying in Delhi for the same.
However, the NPF party under its leadership of TR Zeliang had the decency and genuine concern for the Naga cause thus taking the responsibility in ringing the sleeping bell of the Government of the day. But the positive attitude of the NPF party approach towards the Government has been misconstrued and the NDPP have mastered the art of finding faults even when there is none and came up with ridiculous term as ‘Misleading’ the Nagas.
The NPF party would like to remind that, in the letter addressed to the LoP by the Deputy Speaker, it is noteworthy to study the last second para in which he has clearly stated that the office of speaker/Dy-Speaker have not received any intimation from the office of the Hon'ble Chief Minister, on the desire to represent the JLF/PWC on the Naga Political Issue before the Central Government. This speaks volume about the CM's unconcern for the Naga people.
When the 4th October meeting was cancelled at the eleventh hour and a date was proposed, the Leader of NPF party had clarified to the office of Deputy Speaker that as some MLAs would not be in station on 7th and 9th October due to prior engagement of the party. However, they will all be back on the 10th so fixing the meeting on the 11th would be convenient for all as the presence of all the elected members at the JLF meeting is important at this crucial juncture.
In reply, the deputy speaker said that he will get in touch with CMO and accordingly get back with a date. Unfortunately, no intimidation was served and so the JLF meeting on Naga Political issue was never materialized.
Given the pressing need for the elected members as facilitators to deliberate and help in facilitating for an early solution, since the interlocutor had given the deadline of 31st October, the LoP with genuine concern wrote to the Speaker.
It would behoove the CM to not misguide and make a scapegoat of Deputy Speaker, who is young and an upcoming leader of the Nagas, for his own selfish and hidden agendas. Also, the party failed to understand how the letter of the LoP requesting for holding the JLF meeting at an early date has hurt the sentiments of the CM and the NDPP so much.
The NPF party will continue to stand by our commitment towards facilitating for a final solution. And no matter how much our adversaries attempt to break us, we will not be broken but rather grow from strength to strength with the prayers and support of the Naga people.
The NPF party appealed to its adversaries not to succumb to a mere paper war but asked a oneness voice among all the Naga leaders at this crucial juncture so as to delivered the best justice to the Naga people.
Meanwhile, the NPF party would like to extend our gratitude to the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India and the Union Home Minister for their deep concern to solve the Naga Issue which has started to bear fruit when the Naga Negotiating groups and the GoI Interlocutor came to a mutual understanding on the 31st October.
We congratulate the Interlocutor and the NSCN (IM) and the 7-NNPGs WG for finally arriving at an understanding to sign the final accord. We also express gratitude to all the CSOs and various other organizations, who stood by and prayed for an amicable solution to the Naga Political imbroglio.
We make an appeal to all, to continue to remember the parties involved in negotiations in our prayers so that there would not be any hiccups on the way, before the final inking of the Accord.
