Rangdajied Juniors Travel To Guwahati To Face Green Valley FC
Shilllong, 18 Feb 2014:
Rangdajied United FC U-19 team travel to Guwahati for their first away game against Green Valley FC to be played at the Indira Gandhi Stadium in Guwahati on Wednesday. The match is slated for a 2 PM kick-off.
The match holds immense importance for the Junior Blues, having suffered a 1-2 reverse against Shillong Lajong FC U-19 in the opening fixture of the I-League U-19 North East Zone. And with Lajong registering their 2nd win against Royal Wahingdoh today, Rangdajied cannot effort to slip anymore if they are to progress further in the tournament.
Green Valley FC, who will also be hosting their first ever national level tournament, too, have not had the start they would have wanted. They lost to Royal Wahingdoh in their opening match. Hence, the Kamlakanta Loitongbam coached team will also look to come hard at the visitors.
However, going into the match, Rangdajied United are the clear favourites owing to their experience of playing at a tournament of such level. The team comprises of players playing for the senior team in the Shillong Premier League and also at the SPL U-19.
Still, the onus will lie on Mebanshan Suting, Bisharlang Kharumnuid, Banshanlang Nongdhar, Reson Malngiang among others to guide the U-19 Shillong Premier League champions to victory.
Despite being an away match, the team is hoping to turn the tide in their favour. Assistant coach Lekini Suting informs, "The team is confident of doing well and we all hope we will come back with a win."
"The best part is, we have the full squad fit and boys are raring to go. They are really upset about the lost in the first match and they all are hoping to make amend tomorrow. They will play their hearts out," Suting further added.
But at the end of the day, the result will go in favour of the team that performs well in that stipulated 90 minutes of play.
