Racial attacks to NE Students in Delhi and appeal to ATSUM to withdraw economic blockade
Date : 13 February 2014
Manipur Muslim Online Forum (MMOF) Condemns Racial attacks to NE Students in Delhi and also
appeal to ATSUM to seek an alternative way to demand their rights instead of Economic blockade
Manipur Muslim Online Forum (MMOF) strongly condemns the recent series of racial discriminations
carried out to the North East Students. The death of Nido Tania is certainly a shock and a very debauchery
message of undemocratic and uncivilised people of Delhi.
It has been almost half a month; no befitting punishment is seen to have taken by the Delhi Police and Arvind Kejeriwal. It is even saddening that
reports of many such abuses, racism attacks are still coming while protest over death of Nido Tania is
going on. This really shows the high headedness of Delhites. We appeal to the Govt. of Manipur and MP
all NE states to pursue the matter and cause an early action before any kind of retaliation happens
elsewhere.
MMOF also appeals to All Tribal Students Union of Manipur to rethink the decision of indefinite economic
blockade likely to impose from 15.02.2014. The situation in Manipur is very unpredictable. Everyone in
Manipur is falling under prey of Capitalism. Soon after the news of indefinite economic blockade is
announced, all businessman have started reserving their stocks for sale during actual Bandh at higher rate
which will catastrophically affect the poor people. The condition of petrol pumps is even worse. There
should be some alternative way to demand our rights from the govt. Lets put an end to Bandh culture.
We are going to ruin this state sooner than later. This state does not lack quality people in any field. Lets
compete with the world and bring a change in development process.
