Public solidarity on Proposed Sangai Site at Kumbi

As part of the Central Government’s decision to develop a new Sanctuary for Sangai at Kumbi, the Society for New Kumbi Assembly Constituency is organizing a “Public Meeting on the Proposed Sangai Sanctuary” at Kumbi (Dampi Reserved Forests-Northern End Portion/Tamphakhunou Bypass to Hawaipokpi) at JMC Hall, Kumbi on 20th February, 2015 2015 at 9 AM.
The function will be attended by
Sanasam Bira Singh, MLA of Kumbi Assembly Constituency;
PN Prasad (IFS), Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) & Chief Wildlife Warden, Manipur;
Moirangthem Okendra Kumbi, Guinness Book of World Record Holder;
LM Khaute (IPS), Additional Director General of Police, Manipur;
Dr Kh Samungou Singh, Sangai Expert;
Bantee Konthoujam (MCS), SDO Moirang and
Dr M Bhubaneshwori Devi, Associate Professor, Department of Zoology, DM College of Science, Imphal
as President, Chief Guest and guests of honour respectively.
The main highlight of the public meeting will be site seeing of the proposed Sangai Sanctuary (Dampi Reserved Forests-Northern End Portion/Tamphakhunou Bypass to Hawaipokpi), and public solidarity meeting on the proposed site for Sangai sanctuary.
Besides, the main agenda of the meeting also include the protection of the world famous Sangai. Various resolutions regarding the protection of Sangai will be adopted during the meeting along with local people, leaders, government officials and subject experts.
