Protesters cremated Manipur ministers
The Telegraph | Khelen Thokchom | July 19:
How will a man feel when he is symbolically either buried or cremated along with their effigies according to their religious affiliations? Manipur chief minister Okram Ibobi Singh and deputy chief minister Gaikhangam sure know how it feels. Inner-line permit (ILP) supporters burnt effigies of the duo and several MLAs to send across the message that they were “useless and as good as dead”.
Apparently, the chief minister and other ministers are feeling uneasy. Gaikhangam said he did not know “it (cremation) is auspicious or inauspicious for the ministers”.
