According to Prof. Lal Dena, there are two types of nationalities – consolidated nationalities (mainland India society) and the marginalised society (NE society), whom he referred to as the “Fourth World” people. Prof. Lal Dena said that the NE people are ‘parasite economically’ as they depend up on the metropole and tends to develop a colonial ideology (internally) which subsequently affected their mental state of these peripheral tribes.
Prof. Lal Dena is former HOD, Dept. of History, Manipur University & Fellow Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR).
