Director (Posts) presenting My Stamp to the retiring Postmaster
Shri N. Koireng Singh, Postmaster of Imphal Head Post Office has retired today serving more than 37 years in Postal Department. Shri Vinod Kumar, Director (Posts), Manipur gave an emotional farewell to the departing servant of India Post and wished him the best in his new era of life after retirement. The Director intimated that Shri Koireng was always positive, hardworking and willing to take more assignments despite his aging stature. He also mentioned the postmaster gave his best effort until the last day and he always managed to smile despite immense pressure and challenges ahead of him. The Director presented him with a framed My Stamp, a unique stamp with the picture of the retiring official.
During his tenure as Postmaster of Imphal HO since August 2015, Imphal Head Office was able to open around 3500 Sukanya Samrridhi Yojana accounts, 2800 Saving Bank Accounts and 3000 Recurring Deposit accounts. He was also very good in handling customer related issues and dedicated himself to providing best solutions for the public. He joined the Postal Department in 1978 as Postal Assistant. He worked as Sub Postmaster, Loktak Project SO, Bishenpur SO, Nambol SO, Saikot SO and Churachandpur MDG before becoming the postmaster of Imphal HO. He is from Nambol Irengbam Leikai.
Shri Kumar, Supdt. Of Post Offices (HQ), Manipur also expressed his feelings on the moment and said that Shri Koireng would be missed for his long service. Shri L. Tiken Singh, Asstt. Supdt. Of Post Offices said it is a matter of great sadness and wished him well for his later life. Shri Koireng would be succeeded by Shri L. Giridhon Singh as Postmaster of Imphal HPO from tomorrow, the Director added.
The Director appealed the people of Manipur to come forward and avail the benefits of various social security schemes like Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna (PMSBY) under which an eligible person can enjoy the insurance cover of rupees 2 lakhs at the rate of rupee one per month only. He also requested all parents to get a Sukanya Sammridhi Yojana account opened for their girl child under age of ten years to make her future bright.
