- CPI urges Centre to convene all-party meet

The CPI has urged the UPA government to convene an all-party meeting to formulate a policy on migrants, cautioning that the Assam violence and its repercussions across the country is only the beginning.
“There can be more serious crises of this nature and complications are bound to appear (that will) extend the same fate to Manipur and other parts of the Northeast. Now, the Centre should call an all-party meeting to chalk out a migrant policy at the earliest, that is the need of the hour,” Nara Singh said.
