We are seeking a highly motivated student with an understanding of social science research networks and with demonstrable research skills and writing experience.
The eligibility requirements are a Bachelors Degree with honours, a Masters Degree or equivalent academic and professional qualifications. The scholarship is open to both local and international students.
Scholarship Description: Prof. Mark Considine (Professor of Political Science) and Dr. Siobhan O’Sullivan (Research Fellow, School of Social and Political Sciences) University of Melbourne, Australia, invite students with an interest and/or expertise in one or more of the following fields: public policy; social policy; local governance; employment services; social enterprise; the role of the state; citizen’s rights; and contracting-out, to apply for a PhD scholarship on an Australian Research Council (ARC) funded Linkage study into the evolution of employment services policy and delivery in Australia, the UK and the Netherlands.
In collaboration with the project investigators, and our research partners, the student will take responsibility for a component of the larger study. That component will focus on how firms and NGOs developed and changed in response to changes in government policy. The larger project is concerned with innovation and flexibility in social policy development and delivery.
The student will be based at the University of Melbourne and will work alongside the larger research team. The student will also have the opportunity to undertake research in the UK. The successful application will receive a stipend of $AUS30,000 per year, for three years
