Pact aside, chopper chase tells another tale
The Telegraph | Nishit Dholabhai | New Delhi, Oct. 6:
Some time last week, the Assam Rifles is understood to have flown a chopper over the hills in Ukhrul, Manipur, chasing a top NSCN (Isak-Muivah) leader who has now set up a camp in Myanmar.
Hangshi Ramson, a senior leader of the outfit and wanted by the National Investigation Agency, has set up camp in Myanmar's Sagaing division. Despite a framework agreement being signed in the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on August 3, the friction on the ground has apparently not ceased.
"Even after signing the accord why have proceedings against a steering committee executive member not been withdrawn?" asked an NSCN (I-M) functionary. "That is why they have no alternative but to carry out work from there," said the source. The NSCN leadership has raised the issue with interlocutor for Naga talks, R.N. Ravi.
