The Naga Students Union Delhi in collaboration with the Naga Fellowships and Churches, held a candlelight service at India Gate, New Delhi on May 9, 2010 in protest against the killing and injuring at Mao Gate on the 6th of May, 2010, by the Manipur Police Cammondos. The service at the vigil was led by Rev. Kamthui, Pastor Zeliangrong Christian Fellowship, Delhi and began with the invocation by Mr. David Sha, Pastor Poumai Baptist Church , Delhi .
MP Nagaland CM Chang, who was present at the servicel expressed his condolence to the bereaved family. He said that although what happened is a bad thing but that this has proven to bring forth a positive outcome as the Nagas have come together. He also said that this has to be taken as an opportunity to step forward and show that we the Nagas can work together on peace.
Mr. Aguimei Pamei, Asst. Chaplain Naga Christian Fellowship spoke to the gathering quoting from the Bible- Psalms 23 stating that this is a symbol of light overcoming the darkness which is at present hovering around. After the sharing, those gathered lit the candles whilst the choir sang a special song 'Healing of our Spirit'. The meeting concluded with a mass spoken prayer and the benediction prayer by Rev. Dr. Alem, Pastor Ao Baptist Church , Delhi .
The candlelight service at India Gate, New Delhi was in protest against the inhuman killing and injuring of scores of innocent on the 6th of May at Mao Gate. The incident happened when students and villagers came out to welcome Th. Muivah, leader NSCN (IM).
This service was for the victims who died and the scores injured and for the continuing unrest. This is also a plea to the national media and concerned citizens to help in this fight against violations of Human Rights in the NE regions. The vigil which started at 7:30 was attended by more than 1500 Nagas in Delhi and other Civil organization.

Naga Students’ Union Delhi (NSUD)
The Naga Students’ Union Delhi is organizing a ‘sit-in Dharna’ today – Monday, May 10, 2010 infront of the Prime Minister’s resident from 5pm onwardsin protest against the killing and injuring at Mao Gate on the 6th of May, 2010, by the Manipur Police Cammondos.
The Dharna is to appeal the Centre Government of India to intervene on the military action recently enveloping in Naga’s area of Manipur by the Manipur Government and also to take immediate on the demands of the memorandum that was submitted to the GoI by NSUD.
