PRJA aims to spread wings
The Telegraph | Manash Pratim Dutta | Guwahati, April 10
The People Resurgence and Justice Alliance (PRJA), whose co-convener is Manipur rights activist Irom Sharmila, today said it will open its second state unit in Assam within a month.
The PRJA, which contested and lost three seats in the Manipur Assembly elections last month, aims to fight the Assam panchayat elections later this year.
"Within a month we will formally unveil the Assam state committee and set up our state headquarters. After that, we will start door-to-door visits to know the perennial issues here. Initially, we will start with five districts and will cover the entire state later this year," Mayengbam James, joint secretary of the PRJA, told the media here today.
