DAAD Siemens Post Graduate Program at Germany :: 2011

Young researchers from China, India, and Russia can apply for support to lengthen the scope of their international research projects through the "Siemens / DAAD
Post Graduate Program." Projects will be completed with a doctorate in Germany, and will be supervised by scientists working at German universities.
Applications from graduates holding a Master's or equivalent degree in Engineering Sciences, Natural Sciences (including Physics, Biology, and Chemistry), Mathematics, and Computer Science are welcome, and the application deadline is March 31, 2011.
Grants for Ph.D. students will be awarded for up to 36 months and include a travel allowance, a monthly grant payment of 1,30O euro, insurance, and a two-month German language course. Family-dependent allowances may also be paid where applicable.
DAAD (Deutscher Akademischer Austausch Dienst or German Academic Exchange Service) is a joint organization of German higher education institutions whose purpose is to promote international academic relations through exchanges of students, academics, and scientists. DAAD runs approximately 250 programs each year with an annual federal budget of roughly 350 million euro.
Siemens AG is a German-based international electronics and electrical engineering firm that operates in the industry, energy, and healthcare sectors. They are currently the world's largest provider of environmental technologies with nearly one-third of company revenue coming from green products and solutions.
Applications are open to Indian graduates who hold a Master's or equivalent academic degree and have very good English language skills. No more than two years should have passed since graduating with this degree.
Application papers must always be submitted in duplicate. Incomplete papers are not processed. To apply, please use the form "Application for Research Grants and

To complete your application, please enclose the following papers and documents:
- curriculum vitae (2 pages max.),
- letters of recommendation from two academics/researchers of the applicant's choice,
- proof of English language skills (TOEFL 550/213/80; IELTS: 5.5),
- copies of academic degree certificates,
- letter confirming supervision by a German university teacher,
- detailed work plan and schedule (signed by the supervisor)
