Outcry on power hub at school

The Manipur government's plan to set up a power sub-station inside a state-aided school campus in Thoubal district has run into a wall of opposition from students of the school and NGOs.
The state had planned to set up the sub-station, the construction of which is yet to start, on the campus of Yairipok High School to improve power supply in the area. The government initiated the steps by setting up temporary sheds for stay of construction labourers on the two-and-a-half-acre campus a few days ago.
