Why?
Why, because I do not know how else to start with.
Or why I should be writing this at all.
Why, because it, despite being a question, is the only answer.
Why, because it is more polite to start a chit with than with an ‘how come?’.
Why, for it better represents discontent than wonder.
Oh, why?
Four months ago, you and your noblemen have erected billboards that aggressively pick on the conscience of law-abiding citizens like (un)truly ours. You chaps locution your "gang" aka SPF stands for progress and prosperity with special mention of conversion of Manipur University into Central University as an evidence of your pro-education stance.
Honestly, you and I have never broke bread together or walked down the same street. We do not have anything in common, apparently.
In fact, you don’t even know me. And I don’t care for I know you know you don’t have to care. For anything. Least education.
Six months ago, I saw you at the Bunglon High School. You were soberly attired in white and sharing the dais with the most famed bachelor on this side of the globe.
I also bet you were devoid of earphones and not listening to some Anu Malik garbage.
I also hazard a guess (am I expecting too much from you already?) that you can hear it loud and clear when DR APJ made his pledge to godfather science and computer labs at the BHS.
Remember the absorbing mode in which he talked education with the school kids? It was inspiring and enchanting, wasn’t it?
Exactly five months back, on the 23rd October 2006 to be exact, Mr. Satish Mathur, Director, President’s Secretariat, had communicated to the CS, Jarnail Singh that an appropriate sized hall for the said lab be ‘kindly’ done latest by 31st March 2007.
I guess, you have heard from JS by this time. Your mates in the department of Education(S) have also approved a sanction of rupees 570,000 towards this end.
I am aware that you are also aware of what’s happening around you. Like, the deletion of the President’s Bunglon visit in your DIPR Calendar 2007.
Does it ever hit you that a Rashtrapati visitation to a Manipuri village, propelled solely by personal dedication, is a huge affair? I must hand it to you that you’re a History-Sh@tter (forgive me for the inevitable pun).
Sir, what does your T.N say about this?
I am not questioning your brotherhood to your citizens. Irrefutably, I have read how you shed them globules at the sight of the plight of your subjects time and again.
But, sir, I too shed tears. Like, when the Chief Secretary of our state termed the inefficiency of our Education Department as ‘Shameful”. Wasn’t it “Four Years of Secular Progressive Front?” or is education anti-progress?
Six months or half a year it has been now that your cabinet was expected to chip in with its part of the show.
How about laying a brick now? Better late than never ever. That hell of a young man in a hurry, Sumant Singh, DC of Churachandpur had sent an inspection team to BHS December last.
Did you give him a piece of your mind? For they never came again.
I think I’m going to like you. Maybe, we should hang out together sometimes. You know, I’m also non-pareil in obliterating what I chose to. Like, keeping my words.
Peace.
P.S: If a Presidential Directive can collect dust, what of your average subjects?
