New Year Thought
K. Padmakumar *
This life, my life small as dewdrop
Flows into the great river of life
The ever continuing flow of human beings
And blessed I am for getting involved in this passage.
Is there anything better than this?
Birth is a harsh reality; death also is a harsh reality,
Joys and sorrows are only natural to man,
Sometimes I get the real meaning of life
All of a sudden
At certain joyful moment; at certain sorrowful moment
In getting carried away to the home of memories
By a short play played long time ago
And lying dormant in the depths of the soul
Which destroys my relationship to the world
For a short moment by getting hold of me.
