Nengneithem Kipgen awarded PhD by Centre of Japanese studies
Nengneithem Kipgen was awarded Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) by the Centre of Japanese studies, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University after successfully defending her thesis titled “Japan’s policy towards South Asian migrant workers, 1989-2008” on January 30, 2015.
Dr. Kipgen, who is currently a guest faculty at the Department of Political Science in Tripura University, teaches courses in International Relations.
The promising scholar visited Japan for her field research. She hails from Haipi village in the state of Manipur in Northeast India. As an expert in area studies, Dr. Kipgen speaks Japanese fluently.
