Introduction:
Jignyasa-2015 is a National level science model making competition with the sole objective of fostering scientific curiosity, creativity among students and teachers to provide a platform to exhibit and share their knowledge and passion for science through interaction with peers and audiences.
When, where and who:
Jignyasa- 2015 is planned between7th to 9th January 2014 in Hubli,Karnataka and is inviting entries from students studying in 6th -10th standards and teachers. More information about the event can be found in the website www.jignyasa.org
Total Prize money of Jignyasa-15 is around 2,00,000/- rupees and nearly 20,000 people including students, parents, teachers, Government Officials, policy makers, entrepreneurs, industrialists and general public from various parts of the state are expected to witness this event.
While model making competition is the core event of Jignyasa 2015, several other programs/ events are being planned around it such as:
o Popular Science Lectures
o Science toys and Books Exhibition
o Students- Scientist Samvad
o SITE ( See and Interpret the Event).
o Cultural programs
Methodology and Timeline:
All interested students /teachers in north-east part of India are invited to submit synopsis with their project details (Including Principle, Category of science, Experimental Methodology, required materials and Photos/Ray diagram of the projects) to Jignyasa team within 31st December 2014. Later Synopsis review team will select top 30 projects for ‘Jignyasa 2015’. Selected projects will be announced before 4th January 2015.

Support:
The selected projects from students/teachers will receive support from organizing body of Agastya International Foundation in terms of train fare for one student and one teacher per project. Food and accommodation will also be organized for free.
