“Naga issue has become complicated, tangled and fraught,” RN Ravi, interlocutor of the Indo-Naga peace talks, stated while taking part in the debate hour. “There are challenges from within and without. Within, Nagas need to reconcile with the Naga nationalism and Indian nationalism. The dialectics between the two has been fraught—an issue of bitterness which has made it more complicated,” he added.
Stressing on a framework where “Nagas must win to the maximum possible extent,” which, he thought, can be attained through “honesty of purpose and honesty of process,” Ravi stated that reconciling the past and the present is the challenge and to face this challenge, facts must be accepted.
