NSF indefinite bandh peaceful on day 1

Naga Students’ Federation (NSF) imposed ‘indefinite bandh’ on all Meitei/Manipuri owned vehicles plying in all the Naga inhabited areas went off peacefully on day one with no report of any untoward incident Wednesday.
According to NSF official, the federation would continue with the bandh till the government of Manipur settled the matter. NSF called the bandh after Manipur government failed to fulfil its demands with regard to the alleged threat on life of the NSF delegation in Imphal by Manipur police commandos on February 14 while they were on the way to Ukhrul the Lu-ngai-ni festival. The bandh has been enforced in all the Naga inhabited areas of four districts of Manipur namely Ukhrul, Senapati, Chandel and Tamenlong and in Nagaland especially NH-29.
