NPF replies to imposters
Kohima: 24th October, 2017
The attention of the Naga People’s Front, Central Headquarters, is drawn to some imposters going by the fancy moniker “NPF Press & Information Cell” issuing ridiculous statements in the media which have been serving as a good source of unblemished humour for the discerning mass.
For instance, when the Election Commission of India issued an Order on October 17, 2017, stating that the present claims made by suspended and expelled NPF members were a repeat of what transpired in 2015 and had asked the party to settle the matter by convening a General Convention of the party and to let the Active members present and voting decide the issue, this Cell of Hilarity issued a statement expressing its fervent hope, wish and dream that the ECI would give its verdict at the earliest! This was something like a student bringing home an adverse Report Card and tells the parents that he, the student, hopes the Teachers would improve their markings very shortly!
The verdict had already been passed, and the convicts, sent to the dungeons, cannot ask the Judge to give a favourable verdict at the earliest!
The ECI had minced no words when it said that the same thing happened in 2015 when majority of the NPF legislators, albeit most of them suspended from the party, camped at Sovima and claimed ownership of the NPF party. And no amount of yarning by these spin doctors would convince anyone that the group of majority legislators came out victorious from that episode, and that Mr Noke Konyak took over as the President of the NPF from 2015 onwards!
These politicians-sans-political-party may like to fool themselves like the proverbial ostriches burying their heads in the sand to avoid reality, but they should not insult the intellect of the public by translating differently what is clearly written on the wall: suspended and expelled members of the NPF party have no say whatsoever in the affairs of the party, and the ECI has clearly directed the NPF party to convene a General Convention and to let the members present and voting decide the matter.
The ECI was conspicuously silent about the so-called General Convention of September 20, 2017, held at Dimapur by these erstwhile NPF members, which goes to show that suspended members of a political party are not competent to convene a General Convention of the party from which they have been suspended or expelled.
As per the directions of the ECI, party President Dr Shurhozelie Liezietsu has already notified the date, time and venue of the General Convention of the NPF party. And when the time comes, these party-less politicians and the imposters claiming to be the NPF workers and functionaries, shall surely find themselves all suited and booted with nowhere to go!
