The United States Educational Foundation of India has invited applications from school teachers for the Teaching Excellence and Achievement Programmes for secondary level (Class 9 to 12) teaching English and Social Science in schools located at Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagabland, Orissa,
Sikkim, Tripura, West Bengal and all Union Territories in East India.
This message which was sent to Professor Amar Yumnam of Manipur University, said that the programme will be held at the USA from mid September to early November in 2008.
The programme will cover course work and intensive training in teaching methodologies, curriculum writing, teaching strategies and educational leadership and a two to three week internship at a secondary school.
The selected teachers will receive funds for round the trip travel, room and board and applicable allowances, said the message sent to Amar Yum- nam which also urged him to encourage promising teachers.
