Chief Minister N Biren Singh has presented Best Cadet Awards to Best NCC Cadet Senior Division and Best Cadet Senior Wing at 1st Manipur Rifle Battalion Ground, Imphal on the occasion of India's 74th Independence Day.
Rani Gaidinliu Best NCC Girl Award 2019-20, has been awarded to Cadet Mayanglambam Menita Devi, d/o Mayanglambam Somorendro Singh and Mayanglambam Ongbi Sumita Devi of Iroisemba Maning Leikai, Imphal West.
She is a cadet of 1 Manipur Air Sqn NCC of NCC Group Imphal. In 2018, she qualified for the Inter-Group Competition (IGC) - a state-level event.
Thereafter, she was selected to represent the NCC North East Region Directorate at the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi in 2019 . The cadet has also participated in various Centrally Organised Camps like Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat at Delhi in 2019 and Combined Annual Training Camp held at Imphal.
The cadet passed the NCC 'B' Certificate exam with Alpha Grading. She worked as a peer educator (volunteer work) of Harm reduction programme (drug awareness programme) under SASO, CPLI project. She aspires to become an Officer in Indian Air Force.
Major Paona Brajabashi Best NCC Boy Cadet Award 2019-20 has been awarded to CUO Nongmaithem Bunty Angom, s/o Nongmaithem Amutombi Angom and Nongmaithem Ongbi Ranjana Devi of Sagoltonba Mayai Leikai, Imphal West.
He is a cadet of 1 Manipur Air Sqn NCC of NCC Group Imphal. In 2018, he qualified for the Inter-Group Camp (IGC) - a state-level event. Thereafter, he was selected to represent the NCC North East Region Directorate at the Republic Day celebrations in New Delhi, 2019 .
The cadet completed Basic Skiing Course at Gulmarg with Alpha Grading. He had also participated in various Centrally Organised camps like Basic Leadership Camp at Agartala in 2018, Air Force Attachment Camp at Guwahati in 2019, Ek Bharat Shreshta Bharat at Delhi and Combined Annual Training Camp held at Imphal.
He passed the NCC 'B' Certificate exam with Alpha Grading. He aspires to become an Officer in the Indian Air Force.
Both the cadets were presented with White Metal Honour Plate, Certificates of Merit and Rs 25,000 each.
The cadets are from DM College of Science, Imphal.
