My Line of Work
K. Radhakumar *
She is a street vendor, a mother;
She sales vegetables
At Khwairamband bazar of Imphal
And she struggles hard against poverty.
In a quiet room of a hotel
In the very heart of Imphal city
A woman does no longer quarrel with her conscience
And she has sex with men in exchange for money.
I do not let these women trouble my poetic conscience.
This is all good stuff,
A matter of individual conscience.
Well done!
