Mountain Monument
Brajeshwor Moirangthem *
A magnificent monument
Alighting atop the enchanting hill
Breeding the beacon of bruising hope
By the enlightening tree
In the heart of Mother
Reminding her children
Dark days of devastation
A violent scene of carnage
Keeps telling its own tale
A heroic heritage.
What a sorry sight!
Trampled underboot,
Disgrace to the daring deed,
Would somebody care to preserve it?
Where the brave materialize
Could the Mighty Empire withstand?
Sons of lofty mountain
Mother calls - raises her voice-
Sons and daughters
Sons and daughters.
