Minor victim of anti-ILPS bills agitation buried
Nagaland Post | Rining Lyngdoh | Shillong, Dec. 28:
The last rite of one of the nine victims of August 2015 anti-ILPS violent agitations was finally performed Wednesday in Manipur’s Churachandpur district. The dead bodies were kept in the morgue of the Churachandpur district hospital after the families with backing of the Joint Action Committee Against Anti-Tribal Bill (JACATB) refused to accept the bodies till date.
However, on December 23 last, the mortal remains of 11-year-old victim, Khaijamang Touthang, who was among the nine victims was forcibly taken away by the family members with the supports of volunteers of some civil society organizations based in the district. Reports said that the family and civil organizations have decided to perform the last rites of the minor deceased after an agreement was reached with the state government during a talk with chief minister O Ibobi Singh on the same day.
