Militants killed in Manipur
The Telegraph | Khelen Thokchom | Imphal, May 1
Four suspected NSCN (Khaplang) militants were killed in an encounter with the Assam Rifles in Manipur's Tamenglong district this morning. Official sources said the encounter took place at Kapning, 85km from Imphal.
Tamenglong is a stronghold of the NSCN (K) and the security forces were on the alert after the Naga militant group abrogated its 14-year ceasefire with the Centre in March. This is the second time that NSCN (K) cadres have engaged security forces in Tamenglong district in the recent past.
