Going through the daily newspapers in the morning makes my heart beat rise up to an uncontrollable level not out of ecstasy but out of a feeling of nausea, a vomiting sensation tingling down with all the good news the press in Meitieland manages to present in the morning .On second thought I wonder should I blame the meeiteis for the present state of affairs that seem to be engulfing the state at a pace faster than a nuclear explosion.
Killings ,mayhems ,riot like situation’s Meelal’s rampage on everything except their own properties-burning for a social cause a unique language in a unique land for a unique people- the situation is fast deteriorating at a pace faster than a nuclear reaction for the common people but for the politician’s and the police it is improving as they are allowed more security coverage, armed to the teeth they are ready to face the innocent public with their huge arsenal –the ongoing cases of police excesses shows it all.
Every night a new organization is given birth by forces which are favoring it’s growth – a state of confusion is persisting where every organization worth it’s name keeps on demanding help from the public in any possible manner- in the name of MEELals ongoing crusade for the Meitie language, for building a library and for what ever reason that can be given.
With hundred’s of organization’s bringing out various agenda’s for itself I wonder where is Meiteilon and Meiteiland (as the demand will be made after some years)heading towards. What if the Zou’s start demanding a Zou Lon a language handed down generation to generation by the forefathers and what if some Zou language development committee start burning the houses in Im,phal for the Govts. failure in recognizing their script.
These things are not just wild imagination but can happen any time in the near future. So I wished all the best to the MEELAL’s and the various organizations so that they achieve everything they want and have nothing else to want which will incidentally lead to a situation that exists in HEAVEN.
On the side of the insurgency problem that is going on I wished that all the leaders of the various underground outfits around 30 or so will become that Chief Ministers of their localities and govern it like a fully elected government only then insurgency can be resolved as it is the only possible way to please the numerous organization which are hell bent on showing their supremacy. I appeal to the CM of Manipur to follow the above suggestion by consulting with his cabinet instead of waiting for the situation to go beyond our control.
Just yesterday a woman with her 8 months old child was giving motherly affection when two youth on a scooter clubbed her to death and snatched away her gold chain. Who is to be blamed the woman or the Gold hunters? Our society permits such excesses to persist as ours is unique and vibrant society. Out society today needs a MORAL GUIDANCE instead of a MEELAL with the sole objective of securing some posts of meetei mayek teachers.
I unconsciously ask why everyone is running madly after government’s jobs in a state which can ill-afford to pay its employees. Why does everyone boast of a Government job even if it pays him very less? Our social psyche governing our people needs to reform first and foremost, our psyche of stealing and grabbing and snatching what is not ours will do nothing more than bringing out numerous organization.
Like too many cooks spoil the soup, too many organizations makes the purpose of an organization a mockery and one day every house hold will have an organization sticking like its sur-name. Why does our English Speaking Ibobi-ji keep quite in such matter of utmost importance?
Everyone with a little brain knows that insurgent control more or less the business of the state and the police instead of tracing out this people join in taxing the sufferers. If an UG’s org. threatens an individual to cough up a certain amount who will have the guts to simply disobey them.
On second thought police officers are also like under-ground organization as they too collect huge funds from illegal activities. Every police officer has a shop at the Imphal Bazar or 3/4 palatial houses and stolen cars. They are more or less like the Mafia we find in the Novels.
The common people like you and me who earn our bread and butter by dint of our hard labor and brain wants and end to regime of guns either in the form of police or UG’s. We want a society which works to get its bread and butter and not a society where everyone pays up to some idle punks who dictate us with guns.
Otherwise, the Meetei land will be forced to adopt various measures which have been handed down from generation to generation to put an end to such a menace. Everyone who doesn’t earn should be given 50 sticks daily and those who want to grab from others should be given a 100 sticks only then Meetei land will shine.
