May sense prevail, prays Manipur
The Telegraph | Khelen Thokchom | Imphal, December 25
The ongoing economic blockade and the consequent tension failed to dampen the Christmas spirit across Manipur with Christians of all denominations visiting churches to attend prayers today.
"We pray for peace, communal harmony and peaceful co-existence. We pray that sense prevails in the minds of the people so they resolve all issues amicably. We pray for intervention of God so that peace prevails," pastor L. Simon Raomai of the Manipur Baptist Convention Church, one of the biggest churches in the state, said.
However, the celebrations were more of religious nature without much merry-making...Many churches also suspended games and sports which were part of the Christmas celebration.
