Bengaluru, 16 December 2016: Azim Premji University has invited applications from fresh graduates and experienced applicants who are keen to contribute to the social sector in critical areas of education, development and related domains. The Two year full time Postgraduate Programmes (M.A. Education, M.A. Development, M.A. Public Policy & Governance) and One year LL.M. Programme in Law and Development programmes at Azim Premji University aim to develop competent and committed professionals who can significantly contribute to the Indian education and social sector.
The University has an explicit commitment towards supporting students from disadvantaged backgrounds, based on parental education, income, caste, gender etc. The University provides extensive financial assistance for deserving students through full and part scholarships covering tuition fees, accommodation and food charges.
Students applying to the M.A. Education programme can specialize in areas like Curriculum & Pedagogy, School Organization, Leadership & Management, Early Childhood Education or Teacher Professional Development. M.A Development students can specialize in Livelihood, Public Health, Law, Governance & Policy or Sustainability. They may also pursue a balanced general programme without any specialization.
University offers a unique learning experience with a curriculum of core courses that provide the foundation, option of specialisations through electives and flexibility to design your own course through the "Independent study" option.
Integrated field practice at the University is a unique learning experience with practicums every week, longer exposure visits, field research internships opportunities and independent field projects. Apart from these, courses in art and craft, music, cinema, literature etc. and other learning opportunities through workshops, seminars, guest lectures and events are organised in the campus.

Admission process and dates: Students can apply online on the University website. Applicants will be shortlisted based on a written test and personal interview. The final date for applications for the Postgraduate & LL.M. programmes is Jan 12, 2017 with the test scheduled in 30 centres across India on Jan 22, 2017 and interviews in Feb/Mar 2017.
Career Opportunities & Placement Support: The four postgraduate programme batches that have passed out have seen an almost 100 % campus placement. Dedicated campus placement cell facilitates these career opportunities. A variety of challenging and fulfilling roles are available in the social sector, NGOs, corporate social responsibility departments, research and educational institutions.
