Manipuris celebrate New Year
Assam Tribune | Imphal, April 6
- Sajibu Nongma Panba Cheiraoba, the New Year of the Manipuri community, was celebrated across the State on Saturday. The festival is celebrated on the first day of the Manipuri month Sajibu, which usually falls in March-end or early-April.
People pray to Gods by offering flowers, fruits and various dishes, while special dishes are prepared from vegetables to be offered to deities along with seasonal endemic items for a grand feast for families.
