Manipuri novelist Kshetri Bira get Sahitya Akademi Award 2011

Manipuri novelist Kshetri Bira for his novel Nangbu Ngaibada (Waiting for You).
Three writers from the northeast have won the Sahitya Akademi Award for 2011. The announcements made on Wednesday have eight books of poetry, seven of novels, three essays, one each of short stories, narrative history, biography and a play among the winners.
The award in the form of a casket contains an engraved copperplaque, a shawl and a cheque of Rs 1,00,000 will be presented to the authors of these books at a special function to be held on February 14 in New Delhi at the Festival of Letters organized by Sahitya Akademi.
