Manipur to open 535 new primary schools

The Manipur government has planned to set up 535 new primary schools under the Serva Siksha Abhiyan(SSA) as per school mapping exercise based on Global Positioning System(GPS) imageries.
Altogether 2,500 lower primary and upper primary school teachers will be recruited by the end of this month for the new primary schools, State Education Department Principal Secretary J Sureshbabu said.
The Principal Secretary further said that biometric attendance system will soon be installed at all high schools of the state.
